Speeding

Speeding

Exceeding a speed limit is an offence and the driver who commits this offence is served with a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP). This notice is delivered within 14 days through the post if the speed cameras catch speeding. There are 28 days to respond and in case of failure to do so, the driver has to face a fine up to £1,000 and 6 points on license. A minor speeding offence is generally resolved via Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) and serious speeding may lead to prosecution.
